History

In 1969, Atlantis Transportation Services Inc. began hauling Hot Shots for General Motors with a single truck in Oshawa, a small automotive community on the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario. This led to the introduction of GM parts distribution via airfreight. In 1974 Atlantis Transportation Services incorporated. A move from Oshawa to Toronto in 1982 heralded the further concentration on the airfreight business and an expansion program which still continues.

Since then the company has grown to become one of the largest airfreight trucking carriers in North America. Robert Thorndyke, the founder's son took over management of the company in the mid-1990's. Today Atlantis Transportation Services Inc. operates over 50 power units and 75 trailers specializing in the transportation of Air Cargo in Ontario, Quebec, Vancouver and the United States. Subsequently, the creation of our bonded warehouse facilities, Air Cargo Inc. (dedicated to airfreight handling), makes it possible to offer our customers a full service logistics program unique in Canada. Employing about 100 people including Professional Transportation Drivers and Owner Operators, Atlantis Transportation Services Inc can provide you the plate vans, reefers, flat decks and heated equipment you need. Computerized dispatch, wide area networking, EDI and Global Positioning Systems allow us to meet virtually all your transportation requirements on time and at cost-effective rates

Exciting things are happening at Air Cargo Inc. (ACI) and we want to share some important news with you. Loyalty from our customers has fueled continued growth, making a move to a new facility necessary. It’s with great pleasure we are announcing on December 1st, 2018, we are relocating to a more spacious area. Our new location is 2100 Reverchon Avenue, Dorval Quebec, H9P 2S2. Our phone number will remain the same at (514) 633-1626 as will our primary email aciyul@atlantis-airlink.com. Our new and better location is easily accessible and will provide you with more convenient parking. Since we’ve opened our doors at 800 Stuart Graham, your business and support are the main reasons why we’ve grown over the years. At our current location, the limited parking and tight working spaces are a hindrance. For the past several months, we’ve been searching for the ideal location and are happy to tell everyone that we’ve finally found it!

ACI has just expanded its Forwarder Services in YYZ with over 21,000sq feet of warehouse space, making ACI one of the largest Handling Facilities in Canada. With the installation of a 2000sq’ pharma cool room, ACI is working towards CEIV accreditation with completion early 2019.
